Okay maybe I'm ready for my GM debut

I was going to finalize my session notes before work today, but I got called in early so I've just been doing it on the clock

It won't be super long, and I think part of it is to do with the fact that it's not my world and I had two days to prepare, so that's something that can be controlled in the future

And I mostly focused on the happiest part, the part I really wanted to do. Because this is a holiday episode, there's no overarching plot. They're doing a Secret Santa, and I was just delighted to make the invitation on Canva and send out the Secret Santa assignments

But the writing was fun, and I think I'll enjoy the instant gratification of people acting out the situations I've created

All in all, it's going to be a learning experience. And it kind of feels like I'm constructing an elaborate fantasy with my Barbies? Y'know? No I won't elaborate but you get it

#i lied i will elaborate #its just like being the bossy friend while playing make believe with all of my other friends #idk i was bad at make believe games as a kid so maybe this is nothing like that #it wasnt easy and it wont be good #but i really enjoyed planning #and tonight i get to see how it goes in practice #i watch a lot of actual plays and ive been playing in this campaign for awhile #so i pray i can scrape that together to be a solid gm for an hour or two #my lovely gf is also the gm but shes been busy this week so without thinking i asked if i could gm a 'beach episode'#just a low stakes character thing #but i switched to a holiday episode because theres a holiday naturally built into some summer camp cultures #christmas in july #my favorite holiday #i get to facillitate everyones characters doing a secret santa for christmas in july #even the pcs that cant be there will get gifts #theyre thoughts of a gift. not anything real #but it feels rude not to include them #so i figured all of that iut. and sprinkled in a bit of mystery #we finished this season awhile back. the mystery has been solved. but itll be nice to go back to this setting #ill let yall know how it goes probably #unless it goes terribly. in whoch case i will delete my posts and blog out of shame
